Hey everyone, I hope I find you all well!
I just designed a new necklace and it wasn't easy! I think I'm in a design rut! Think? I know I'm in a design rut! Please tell me what you honestly think, I'm not sure if it's just my husband and son being nice and telling me my jewelry is great or if it really will appeal to people other than my family.
Does everyone go through this when designing their goods? ~Am I really good, or I am delusional?
I also need a new name for this necklace, if you have any ideas please send it forth, I would greatly appreciate it.
Oh and by the way, I think Etsy is a very dangerous place, especially when your a feeling a bit down and blue. In the next post, I'll show you all of my purchases I've made in the past 2 weeks that I've been a shopkeeper. I should change shopkeeper to purchaser.
Have a great week!!
Sincerely,
~Melinda

yes!!! you are really good! no doubt- love it

Your stuff is so nice and really different. I think we all have that same voice within saying is it good? I have a lot of friends who make jewelry and the one thing that I hear from all is that there are so many jewelry artists out there that it is hard to stand out and make a name for yourself.
ReplyDeleteI think yours does stand out and you can't push the creative side if you just aren't feeling it right now it will show in your work.
I love your new Halloween items, but I am a collector of all halloween so I might be biased
Like today, I just had to take a day off to clear my head and breathe for a moment. I haven't touched anything to do with my crafts. It will set me back a day but it was a must.
So you are not alone, not at all.
We all have ruts and its how we chose to focus that will either keep us in the rut or let our minds soar to new heights.
I know you have a lot on your plate right now but it is all amazing and if it is what you love it will pay off.
Smiles
Amy
It's stunning and unique. I am a painter and I've gotten into a few ruts where my muse went MIA for months (unfortunately). You can't force it. Sometimes it's good to step back and get away from what we're creating.
ReplyDeleteI too am an Etsy PURCHASER. Believe me, I've been holding myself back. I could buy buy buy.
Hang in there!

Love your new necklace Melinda - it´s really really beautiful. names hmmm - I´m only good at names for bears, that wouldn´t work for a necklace would it..
ReplyDeleteI´m a BIG purchaser too- there´s so much great stuff on Etsy.
Wishing you a wonderful day

Oh, I don't know Melinda, I think you should just toss this one...like, in an envelope...addressed to me.LOL
ReplyDeleteIt's absolutely beautiful, don't second guess yourself you are extremely talented.
I think it´s stunning! LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteI´m in a rut now, too. So I guess I know your feelings. I´m trying to get over it by not thinking of it. For today I planned just to tidy up my working space instead of making a mess as usual ;)
Hope you get over it soon. I wish you a wonderful day :)
I love it and I am not being biased, okay not much. But it really is beautiful. My first thought was it reminded me of a side ponytail, but that wouldn't be a good name but that was the image I got. Good luck with the name and yes we all go through those rut stages. Inspiration will hit and you will be surprised at how or when.
ReplyDelete...oh sweet Melinda ~
ReplyDeleteit is hard to make your hands concentrate and listen when your creative self say "make me something beautiful"
but rest assured, your hands seem to have no problem there!!
~ sending happy thoughts to your heavy heart dear one
keep going...and soon your hands will be back to saying "hey, could you slow down so I can catch up?!!"
xo, Rosemary

Melinda the necklace is beautiful. I love the rhinestone strand! It is simple and elegant. Never doubt yourself or your creativity.
ReplyDeleteMelinda, you are so creative and talented, go with your inner girl and do what feels right. I love this and think it's so "chic"! And about the followers and blog list, it's happened to me too. Who knows about people? Keep your chin up and know that we all love you and your blog. You are a sweetie and oh so talented. We can't comment on everyone's blog even though we'd like to. Don't feel guilty or let pressure get you down.
ReplyDeletehugs and love,
Debra
I LOVE IT, wow, so elegant, I thought of a Southern Belle wearing it with one of those lovely crinoline dresses, so maybe Belle. I doubt myself too, and people who I don't even know tell me my work is beautiful, so we both have a lesson to learn. 'To believe in oneself' If you can, I can.

...love the necklace! .....always i!
ReplyDeleteI have the perfect name for this beautiful necklace...."MINE!" ;).
ReplyDeleteIs it still available?
PS Sometimes we ALL get into a creative slump and then at the most inconvenient moment it starts flowing...then the new problem is trying to get them out of your brain and into something tangible all at once!
Blessings,
Missy
